Lucchese Dresses up Dallas Stars for Winter Classic

On January 1, 2020, the Dallas Stars hosted the 12th National Hockey League Winter Classic against the Nashville Predators. This was the first NHL outdoor game for both teams played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.

A couple weeks before the game, the Dallas players and coaches decided they wanted to show off their Texas pride for the pre-game entrance. The team joined us in the Lucchese Dallas Showroom to get fitted head-to-toe in Lucchese attire and boots. Each player had many options to choose from such as boots, jeans, belt, shirt, bolo tie, hat, and much more. Most of the players really went full cowboy while others chose a minimal western approach.

As the players shopped, the NHL film crew was present to get some behind-the-scenes footage for episode three on Road To The NHL Winter Classic. These episodes take viewers inside the dressing rooms and homes of the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators. Take look to see the players choose their Lucchese outfits and a glimpse inside Jamie Benn’s home as he puts on his pre-game outfit.

On game day, each player arrived in style and went all-in on their Texas roots with 85,630 fans present. Everything is bigger in Texas! Thank you to the Dallas Stars players and coaches for repping Lucchese!

Jamie Benn, captain of the Dallas Stars said, "We just thought it would be a great idea for the team to look the cowboy role being here in Texas." He continued by saying, “Ben Bishop, kind of brought it up, and we figured it was a good idea to get some boots and hats and the whole get-up. Lucchese helped us out, and we had a great day there at their store."

Born in Sweden, Mattias Janmark said he needed a lot of help in making his choices. "It's not very Swedish, so I had to get inspiration from teammates. I tried to keep it pretty simple with a suit. I think you'll see crazier guys out there."
