The city of El Paso, home to the Lucchese factory, sits near the grassy shores of the Rio Grande and offers an array of diverse backdrops. From rocky peaks and rustic deserts to ancient structures representing the fusion of American and Mexican cultures, there’s no shortage of scenic beauty.

Our designers often take inspiration from the expansive landscapes of West Texas to create a variety of styles that evoke nature’s unique canvas. Lucky for us, much of that panoramic sprawl lies in our backyard. So the close proximity allowed for a spectacular summer shoot.

To showcase some of our favorite new and traditional designs, our team chose nearby Hueco Tanks State Park. This avid rock climber destination offers an 860-acre natural oasis boasting four immense hills of jumbled boulders rising up through the desert. Hueco (pronounced “Waco”) means “hollow” in Spanish and refers to the abundant natural caverns that fill with rainwater across the craggy terrain.

Next stop: Socorro Mission. This traditional adobe church, first built in 1682 by the Franciscan order and named for the one of the oldest communities in Texas, is the second oldest Mission in the state. The present stucco structure was constructed in 1843 to replace earlier versions destroyed by flooding of the Rio Grande. The impressive structure maintains classic craftsmanship and includes re-purposed elements from the original church. The construction takes strong influences from 17th-century building traditions and incorporates both Indian and Spanish design.

As you can see, Hueco Tanks and the Socorro Mission offered gorgeous yet varied vistas to spotlight our boots in their natural habitat.
