Our Competition Polo Boot is purposefully crafted for those who actively participate in the sport of high-goal polo. Each pair is constructed with luxurious yet, highly durable cordovan mustang and features a protective layer on the outside of the quarters. This layer serves as a shield against direct, physical contact during a competitive match. A traditional Ryan stitch pattern adorns the shaft and is complimented by sleek covered side seams. This true performance boot is specifically designed to accommodate the footwear needs of high goal polo players and includes a longer heel, additional toe protection and a smooth inside finish. The minimal material between horse and rider allows for feeling the horse underneath you during each ride, thus improving overall control, comfort and stability. A reinforced steel shank in the arch of the boot offers additional arch support while riding competitively. Single stitch welt construction. Leather sole. Handmade in Texas. Each pair is made to order.

  • For the best Lucchese fit, take the following steps when trying on boots.
  • STEP 1 - STAND
Insert your fingers into the boot’s pull straps, widen the opening and pull the boot on using your body weight. Note: If the foot slips into the boot too easily, the size is too big. Try on both boots.
  • STEP 2 - LISTEN
When your foot sinks into the correct size, you will hear (and feel) a slight thump inside the boot.
  • STEP 3 - REST
The ball of the foot should rest comfortably in the widest part of the boot just in front of the arch. There should be at least a thumbs width of space between your toes and the end of your boot.
  • STEP 4 - GRIP
The correct fit grips like a firm handshake, with firmness over the top of the instep and a slight slip (typically around 1/4 to 1/2 inch) in the heel. The goal is a snug fit, but not to the point of discomfort. If you feel any discomfort, consider a larger size or place a special order for a custom fit.

Tip: Until the leather breaks in, there will be some slippage in the heel. As you wear the boot, the leather conforms to your foot reducing the slippage.
