Santa Barbara, CA-Dropping their first match of the tournament to Klentner Ranch, Lucchese strung together two straight victories, including a 12-9 triumph over the defending champs (Farmers & Merchants Bank), to bring their record to 2-1 after the first weekend of the tournament.
Lucchese then missed out on a chance for a bye to the finals by dropping a tough 12-11 decision to Restoration Hardware that set up another meeting with Klentner Ranch in the semi-finals. A slim 9-8 victory again set up a revenge match in the final round at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club with Restoration Hardware.
The fans were treated to a spectacular final that saw Restoration Hardware complete a clean sweep of the tournament, going 5-0 and earning the America Cup, with a tight 10-9 victory over Lucchese.
