On November 11, 2012 the Houston Polo Club hosted one of the most prestigious women's polo tournaments in the United States, the 2012 USPA U.S. Open Women's Championship, presented by Lucchese. Five teams (ERG, San Saba, A-F Pony Farm, Goose Creek and BTA) competed in the 6-goal tournament for top honors and the coveted prize of a pair of custom Lucchese Polo boots. Athletes flew in from South Carolina, California, Virginia, Florida, Argentina and Jamaica. Amongst the competitors was Dawn Jones, wife of actor Tommy Lee Jones who plays for San Saba and Sunny Hale. She is the highest-rated female polo player in the United States. She commented what a great tournament the Houston Polo Club produced and how competitive the teams were.

"My wish came true!" said Dayelle Fargey as she held high her new pair of Lucchese Polo boots. "My old boots broke right before the tournament so I had to play in borrowed boots that were two sizes too big. These were fantastic!"

The game was played with a lot of speed and the score was tied evenly throughout. The score at the half was 3-3. San Saba took the lead soon after only to have it stolen away by Lia Salvo tying the score again.Tiffany Busch (Busch Beer) score the winning goal in overtime for A-F Pony Farm winning their first USPA U.S. Open Women's Championship.
